5th Grade Dance

June 20, 2025

Following graduation, the Class of 2025 celebrated with the 5th Grade Dance at the school’s gymnatorium. Students enjoyed live music by DJ Jason (Cloud 9 Favors), dancing, and delicious food and treats - a perfect way to celebrate the end of their elementary school years. The 5th Grade Dance was made possible by the PTA’s 5th Grade Committee, whose fundraising efforts covered all costs.

5th Grade Graduation Ceremony

June 20, 2025

On Friday, June 20, we celebrated the PS384 Class of 2025 with a heartfelt graduation ceremony. It was a bittersweet day filled with tears and joy as families gathered to mark this important milestone. Thanks to months of fundraising by the PTA’s 5th Grade Committee, students were gifted their caps, gowns, diploma cases, class T-shirts, and commemorative gifts to honor their journey.

PTA Ice Cream Social

June 13, 2025

On Friday, June 13, the PTA hosted its annual Ice Cream Social to mark the end of the school year. PS384 families gathered after school for build-your-own sundaes at the cafeteria, “summer vibes” themed cardboard crafting stations at the gymnatorium, and outdoor activities including bubbles, chalk, and live music. The Finest Pizza Truck was also on site with food available for purchase. The event was open to all families, providing a festive way to close out the school year together.

Cosmic IQ Mobile Planetarium

June 10, 12 & 13, 2025

The PTA funded Cosmic IQ’s mobile planetarium theatre on Deep Oceans as part of a school-wide enrichment program for all PS384 classes. Students in Grades Pre-k to 5 stepped into a state-of-the-art mobile planetarium for an immersive exploration of earth’s oceans. The “planaquarium” experience took classes from coral reefs to the deepest parts of the ocean, with vivid 360° visuals and expert narration. Through encounters with bioluminescent creatures, deep-sea landscapes, and the vast biodiversity of our oceans, students were introduced to one of earth’s most mysterious and awe-inspiring frontiers.

Story Pirates Assembly

June 9, 2025

On June 9, all PS384 classes took part in a PTA-funded theater enrichment program: a Story Creation Assembly with Story Pirates. This fully improvised show invited students to help build an original story from scratch, starting with a brainstorm and ending in a live performance. With the help of Story Pirates cast members, students contributed characters, settings, goals, and obstacles, learning key storytelling concepts along the way. The result was a fast-paced, hilarious performance that left kids inspired to create stories of their own.

Field Day

June 4, 2025

On June 4, PS384Q held its annual Field Day, bringing students and staff together for a full day of outdoor games and team activities. Continuing an annual tradition, the PTA funded all Field Day equipment and T-shirts for every student and teacher. The beautiful mint green T-shirts featured student-designed logos, selected through a school-wide design contest held earlier in the year.

PTA Coffee & Chat: Parents’ Night Out

June 3, 2025

On June 3, PS384Q parents gathered for an evening of conversation at The Greats of Craft lounge and outdoor patio. The night featured a relaxed setting for families to get to know one another outside of school hours. This parent-only event was part of our ongoing PTA Coffee & Chat series, bringing our community together in informal, welcoming spaces.

Free Mets Tickets Giveaway

June 1, 2025

Our PTA secured 75 free tickets for PS384 students and their families to attend the Mets vs. Rockies game at Citi Field on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Families entered a draw for a chance to win tickets. The Mets’ win made the day even more exciting for our families. Thank you to the New York Mets for making this memorable experience possible for our school community. 

District 30 Family Fun Day 2025

May 31, 2025

At the District 30 Family Fun Day 2025 held at I.S. 145, our PTA table invited kids to get their hands dirty with a planter craft - adding soil, planting seeds, and decorating their own take-home pots. It was a great afternoon filled with hands-on activities, live music, games, and a bounce house!

First Grade Trip to Space Club

May 30, 2025

On May 30, our 1st grade classes visited Space Club at Greenpoint, Brooklyn as part of a Physical Education field trip sponsored by the PTA. Students had the chance to jump, climb, and explore in the wide open areas and hands-on play zones. It was a great opportunity for movement, play, and connection with classmates.

Bowling Field Trip - Grade 5

May 29 , 2025

On May 29, the fifth graders marked one of their final days at PS384Q with a special Physical Education Bowling trip to Whitestone Lanes, sponsored by the PTA. This outing gave students time to relax, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company before graduating and moving on to middle school. It was a well-earned celebration of their time together.

Bowling Field Trip - Grades 2-4

May 27 , 2025

On May 27, students in grades 2 - 4 enjoyed a fun day of bowling at Bowl360 in Astoria as part of a Physical Education field trip sponsored by the PTA. It was a great way for students to spend time together outside the classroom, with plenty of strikes, laughs, dancing, and friendly competition.

Kindergarten Trip to Space Club

May 22 , 2025

On May 22, all Kindergarten classes visited Space Club at Greenpoint, Brooklyn as part of a Physical Education field trip sponsored by the PTA. Space Club is a large indoor play space with plenty of room to move, explore, and play. The open layout gave students space to crawl, stretch, swing, and interact freely. It was a fun and active way to spend the day outside the classroom.

5th Grade Class Trip

May 21 , 2025

To celebrate their final year at PS384, the graduating 5th grade class spent the day at The Field House at Chelsea Piers. Students enjoyed a full day of fun, including batting cages, soccer, basketball, trampolines, rope swings, a foam pit, rock climbing, and lunch with friends.  Thank you to the PTA’s 5th Grade Committee, whose fundraising efforts covered the cost of the trip for all 5th grade students.

Color Run

May 17 , 2025

The P.S.384Q PTA Color Run took place on May 17 and was free and open to all P.S.384Q students and their families. Participants began at Queens Landing Boathouse and finished at the Culture Lab LIC parking lot, where they were showered with colorful, non-toxic powder and enjoyed a celebration with music and festivities. Spring Benefit

Our annual Spring Benefit was held on May 14, 2025 at American Brass, bringing together PS384 parents, community partners and event sponsors for a special evening in support of our students. Teacher Appreciation

May 5-9 , 2025

The PTA celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9) with daily prompts for students to thank their teachers in special ways, a breakfast spread, midweek lunch, and an end-of-week celebration with flowers, coffee, and light fare! Neon Nights Dance Party

April 4 , 2025

The PS384Q community lit up the night at the 2025 Neon Nights Dance Party held at Plaxall Properities. Families came with their brightest neon outfits and glows ticks, as headliner DJ Jay Storm kept the energy high all evening. The event featured performances by Dynasty Breaking NYC and Tiger J Taekwondo, hair paint by Sit Still, and face paint by Lady Hawk.

Service Committee Book Drive

March 10-17 , 2025

In a beautiful show of community spirit, the PS384Q PTA Service Committee hosted its first-ever Book Drive coinciding with the Scholastic Book Fair. Families were encouraged to donate gently used books to benefit Bronx Family Network, Bowery Resident Committee, and additional local shelters coordinated through Council Member Julie Won’s office. As students brought home new reads, they also made room on their shelves to share the joy of reading with others. Collection bins in the school lobby quickly filled up with around 950 donated books across various languages, making the initiative a huge success!

Scholastic Book Fair

March 10-14 , 2025

The PS384Q School Library was buzzing with excitement during our Scholastic Book Fair, held March 10-14. Students enjoyed browsing and shopping a wide selection of books with their classmates throughout the week. Families joined in the fun during our special after-school shopping event on Thursday, March 13. It was a wonderful celebration of books, community, and the joy of reading!

Self-Defense with City Jiu-Jitsu Academy

February 27 , 2025

City Jiu-Jitsu Academy (CJA) hosted its second Women’s Self-Defense Class on Thursday, February 27th exclusively for the P.S. 384Q community. The class provided participants with valuable tools and techniques for self-defense, fostering both confidence and camaraderie among attendees. CJA has generously donated 100% of the proceeds from this event to the PS384Q PTA.

I LOVE NY - Silent Auction

February 4 - 11 , 2025

Our families bid on items donated by iconic NY businesses to support PS384’s Art Program through our I LOVE NY Silent Auction. A special event showcasing our auction items was held at CultureLab LIC on Feb. 8. Our PTA extends heartfelt thanks to our generous donors: Legoland New York Resort, Serendipity3, Levain Bakery UES, CAMP, Immersive Gamebox, Sloomoo Institute, Underground Donut Tour, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, MoMA, Liberty Science Center, Barnes & Noble UES, Genius Gems, Space, City Jiu-Jitsu Academy, Shibley Day Camp, Camp Wayne for Boys, Rock & Divine Jewelry, and other incredible items donated by our amazing PS384 families.

Valentine’s Day Bake Sale

February 8 , 2025

The PS384 5th Grade Committee hosted our annual Valentine’s Day Bake Sale at CultureLab LIC, raising funds for graduation activities. Families and friends stopped by to enjoy homemade treats, coffee and hot chocolate while supporting the graduating class. Shoppers browsed a selection of handcrafted friendship bracelets, necklaces, and keychains, as well as PS384 Winter Hats. Thank you to everyone who baked, volunteered, and shopped—your support made this event a success and brought us one step closer to an unforgettable year for the 5th grade class!

Coffee & Chat

Our PTA held its second installment of Coffee & Chat at Stepping Stone on Thursday, February 6 at 8:30 AM. Families enjoyed an informal morning meet-up with PTA board members and shared feedback and ideas to help shape future events and initiatives. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation!

Read-a-thon 2025

January 24 - February 7 , 2025

The PS384Q Read-a-thon, held from January 24 to February 7, was a wonderful celebration of reading across our school! Students eagerly dove into books, logged an impressive number of minutes (170,022!), and discovered the joy of getting lost in a story. The excitement was palpable as our school community came together to share, explore, and build lifelong reading habits.

Pickleball with Tennis Kiddo

January 26, 2025

Tennis Kiddo brought the excitement of pickleball to the PS384 community with special classes for kids, teens, and adults! Participants had a fantastic time learning the game, staying active, and enjoying friendly competition—all while supporting our school. We are incredibly grateful to Tennis Kiddo for donating 100% of the proceeds to our PTA, helping us continue to fund enriching programs and initiatives for our students.

Charity Bake Sale

December 8, 2024

On Sunday, December 8, our PTA organized a Bake Sale to support a charitable cause. Families and community members came together to enjoy a variety of delicious treats kindly donated by our dedicated parent volunteers. The funds raised will go to a charity chosen by our school’s newly-elected Student Council.

COFFEE & CHAT

December 5, 2024

On December 5, the PTA hosted a Coffee & Chat at Zaruma Gold Coffee, bringing parents together for casual conversation and updates on PTA initiatives. The event provided an informal and intimate space to discuss upcoming projects, brainstorm ideas, and build community connections. We look forward to hosting similar events to keep families engaged and informed.

FALL FESTIVAL

On Friday, November 15, the PS384Q PTA held its annual Fall Festival. Our families came together for an evening of community, connection and fun, all while raising essential funds to support our school.

City Jiu-Jitsu Academy: Women’s Self Defense Class

November 2, 2024

On Saturday, November 2, City Jiu-Jitsu Academy hosted a Women’s Self-Defense class exclusively for the PS384Q community. Professor Royce and Professor Danny provided professional training in essential self-defense skills in a supportive and safe environment for our attendees. The PTA thanks City Jiu-Jitsu Academy for partnering with us to strengthen our school community.

On Saturday, September. 14 we hosted our annual PS384Q PTA Welcome Back Gathering at Culture Lab LIC. Our families had the chance to meet and connect, while the kids enjoyed popcorn and games. Family Ice Cream Social

June 13, 2024

On June 13, the PTA hosted a Family Ice Cream Social as an end-of-year celebration for all PS384 families. The event featured sundaes, crafts, play, and live music. The New York Fine Foods pizza truck was also on-site offering delicious pizzas and cannolis.

Art and STEM Night

On June 13, our school hosted an Art and STEM Night with an impressive exhibition showcasing artwork by every student at P.S. 384! The gymnatorium was transformed into a creative STEM makerspace for our students to explore and innovate. 

Field Day

On June 13, our school buzzed with excitement during Field Day! Students proudly sported their matching orange Field Day t-shirts and enjoyed a day of fun games and activities. It was a wonderful celebration of school spirit, teamwork, and friendship.

Spring Benefit

On June 4, our parents enjoyed a fun night out with friends at our P.S. 384Q PTA Spring Benefit. Attendees enjoyed refreshments, a silent auction, DJ, and photo booth! Cosmic IQ: Journey to Outer Space

May 28 and 29, 2024

On May 28 and 29, our students explored the galaxy and beyond in an immersive experience with Cosmic IQ’s mobile planetarium. They explored our solar system, planets, moons, and stars using cutting-edge projection, large-screen film content, and a facilitator-guided expedition. The program featured real footage taken by NASA and other space program telescopes. 

Brown Bag Meals Service Project

May 23, 2024

On Thursday, May 23, P.S. 384 families participated in an after-school service project to help make 200 brown bag meals. The meals were donated to NY Common Pantry, providing to-go meals over the Memorial Day weekend. The mission of NY Common Pantry is to reduce hunger and promote dignity, health and self-sufficiency. 

Neon Nights Dance Party

April 5, 2024

The PTA’s Neon Nights Dance Party was filled with music, dancing, and family fun! The night featured a DJ dance party, basketball, dessert decorating, manicures, neon spray, glow sticks and glitter! Delicious pizza, light bites, snacks, and treats were savored while families rocked their best neon outfits. The PTA thanks its event sponsors: PlayDay, Kawaii Nails, Sit Still,  Slice, Sweet Chick, Little Chef Little Cafe, M. Wells, and Plaxall Properties.

Kindness Workshop and Blanket Donation

March 27, 2024

The P.S. 384 Service Projects Committee organized a kindness workshop in collaboration with Blankets of Hope. Blankets of Hope donated 160 blankets toward this project. Families wrote heartfelt notes and wrapped them in the blankets to be donated to a local homeless shelter. Our students were able to practice empathy and kindness by participating in this impactful service-learning experience.

Bowling Field Trips

March 15 and 20, 2024

Students in grades K to 5 enjoyed exciting team play and friendly competition with their classmates at Bowl 360, Astoria. The PTA sponsored the school-wide bowling trips as part of the school’s physical education curriculum. Students had a chance to sharpen their hand-eye coordination as well as math skills while keeping score. It was a fantastic outing filled with laughter, camaraderie, and skill-building for our students!

Science Demos with Mr. Rich

March 15, 2024

The PTA welcomed science educator Mr. Rich to our pre-k classroom! Mr. Rich captivated our youngest learners with magical science demonstrations and chemical reactions. The children were mesmerized by the wonders of science brought to life before their eyes.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our 2023-24 Scholastic Book Fair was a triumph! The event buzzed with excitement as our enthusiastic students eagerly browsed through a range of captivating titles. With an array of options to choose from, we hope that every child found their perfect book match. Thank you to all of our teachers and volunteers who contributed to making this fair a memorable success!

New York Hall of Science Demos 

February 6-27, 2024

Our PTA sponsored a series of in-school science demonstrations for grades K-5, conducted by the New York Hall of Science. Students explored rocketry, bouncing balls, predator-prey relationships, and the world of insects and arachnids. Our curious students were able to engage in hands-on experiences that fostered a deeper understanding of the natural world.

Read-a-thon 

January 26-February 9, 2024

Congratulations to the incredible participants of our school's Read-a-thon! For two weeks, our dedicated readers delved into the world of books with unwavering enthusiasm. Special prizes were distributed across various winning categories, including breakfasts and pizza parties with the Principal for our top readers. We are immensely proud of our students. Valentine’s Day Bake Sale 

February 11, 2024

On Sunday, February 11 our community gathered for an early Valentine’s celebration to raise funds for our 5th grade class! Families were able to purchase delicious treats, our new colorful P.S. 384 winter hats, floral bouquets, and beautiful friendship bracelets made by our 5th grade students!

Hot chocolate and coffee was generously donated by Little Chef Little Cafe.

CHARITY BAKE SALE

December 17, 2023

On Sunday, December 17 our PTA hosted a Bake Sale to raise funds for charity. Families and community members gathered to savor delectable treats generously contributed by our parent volunteers. Our school’s newly-elected Student Council selected the beneficiary of the funds raised - UNICEF! It was a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and the spirit of giving.

FALL FESTIVAL

November 3, 2023

Our 2023 Fall Festival held at Plaxall Properties, Inc. brought our school community together for a fun-filled evening featuring exciting activities and delicious food! Our children enjoyed a magic performance and science show by City Owlets, and a special demonstration by Tiger J Taekwondo!

The evening was packed with activities sponsored by Sit Still Kids, Snapology, Playday, Gantry Kids & Teens, and Tiger J Taekwondo, as well as cookie decorating courtesy of Little Chef Little Cafe. Families captured beautiful memories at our stunning photo booth created by our PTA’s Events Committee. Our delicious menu was catered by Little Chef Little Cafe and Slice Pizza!

BOOK CHARACTER DAY

Children transformed into their beloved book characters, bringing literature to life in a colorful costume parade around our school! Parents gathered to cheer on the young participants, celebrating their creativity and literary enthusiasm.
